Feeling like a teenager again, Melly Goeslaw recalls old memories!
KUALA LUMPUR: The large-scale concert journey of the versatile Indonesian singer, Melly Goeslaw, did not feel long with the range of popular songs performed and her eloquence inviting the audience to interact.
Melly’s appearance in a unique dress last night also added to the warmth of the Ada Apa Dengan Melly concert witnessed by 2,500 spectators.
Opening the curtain of the performance with the song Ingin Mencintai Dan Dicintai, the appearance of the 49-year-old singer received cheers from the audience who were excited to see their favorite idol in front of their eyes.
Without wasting time, Melly or her real name, Meliana Cessy Goeslaw continued the performance with a collection of hit songs including Tentang Dia , Pujaanku , Bimbang and Suara Hati Seorang Kekasih .
With the selection of songs that were sung, the mood of the audience changed to ‘upset’ recalling old memories from when they were in school.
“An artist’s stage belongs to Him. Perfect belongs only to God. Thank you for being here to see my strangeness,” she said, which was met with screams from fans inside the Plenary Hall, KLCC, last night.
The wife of the famous composer, Anto Hoed repeatedly expressed her gratitude to her fans in Malaysia and the support shown since the movie Ada Apa Dengan Cinta which was shown 21 years ago.
Even more special, Melly also sang the song created by the late P. Ramlee, Di Mana Kan Ku Cari Ganti and Bunyi Gitar with its own version.
Melly’s melodious singing was accompanied by P. Ramlee’s photo display on the main screen which managed to touch the emotions of the audience in the hall.
Almost 30 songs were sung by the singer born in Bandung, Indonesia, among them Ketika Cinta Bertasbih, Ayat-Ayat Cinta, Menggitu Hari, Hangung, Jika, Cinta, Denting, My Heart and many more.
