Fans are mad for the AFC Cup final kick-off at 7pm
The AFC Cup final ACTION that pits the country’s representative, Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC against the Al-Seeb club from Oman on October 22, which is understood to start at 7pm, caused a sense of uneasiness among netizens on Monday.
Whether or not the kick-off took place when the Maghrib call to prayer resounded, which was currently at 7.01pm.
The match scheduled to take place at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium is sure to invite tens of thousands of fans, but the inappropriate kick-off time ‘invited’ soccer fans in cyberspace.
The information about the match, which was written through the online ticket purchase poster, was uploaded on KL City’s Facebook this afternoon, showing the kick-off time at 7pm.
After it was uploaded, it received various reactions from fans who were not satisfied, but still wanted to come down to the stadium to support KL City.
Therefore, netizens want the kick-off time to be changed to a more suitable time to give Muslims, including players, the opportunity to pray first.
A supporter, Farhan Hamzah Dahsyat hopes that the management of AFC and KL City can change the time to 8 or 9 pm.
“It’s very early. In the middle of the evening. That’s the time (7 o’clock) in Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia,” he said.
Also expressing his opinion is Wak Muhammad Jamalullail who hopes that the delay in entering the stadium is okay as long as the prayer is on time.
“Game at 7. Maghrib prayer first. It’s okay to enter the stadium a little late,” he said.
Another supporter, Mohd Shamsol, hopes that the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and KL City will make an official request to the AFC for kick-off at 8pm.
The squad coached by Bojan Hodak is one step away from creating a surprise by becoming the second team from Malaysia to win the championship after the first time it was won by Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in 2015.
