Endemic transition phase: Nightclubs remain not allowed to operate – Khairy
KUALA LUMPUR: No nightclub is allowed to operate or carry out activities even though the country will soon enter an endemic transition phase.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin stressed that it was due to the high risk factor of infection that could occur if it was allowed to operate.
“My answer is, starting April 1, only one type of premise will be on the negative list that still cannot be opened, namely nightclubs. It’s because of the nature of the nightclub.
“We have considered all the risks and nightclubs are high -risk premises even in the transition phase to endemic,” he explained at a press conference in Parliament today.
So with that it is clear, nightclubs will continue to remain on the list and will not be allowed to operate even after April 1.
