Emman Azman, the first Malaysian professional wrestler to join NJPW

KUALA LUMPUR: Professional wrestler, Emman Azman known as ‘ Golden Boy ‘ continues to spread his wings in the wrestling arena when he will compete in the New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) TAMASHII Championship on April 16.

The latest development saw him become the first wrestler from Malaysia to compete in the tournament.

The tournament will take place in Melbourne, Australia, seeing Emman scheduled to face Australian wrestler Jarvis in a solo match.

“Participating in the NJPW wrestling tournament is huge because NJPW is one of the biggest wrestling companies behind WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).

“I am very excited and proud to be the first Malaysian wrestler to join NJPW.

“This is my first time appearing there, so I want to give my best and make Malaysia’s name shine on the world stage. Pray for me,” he said in a statement on Monday.

The 22-year-old Emman won the Melbourne City Wrestling (MCW) Intercommonwealth Championship on 26 November 2022, defeating Mick Moretti and Adam Brooks.

He managed to defend the championship belt last February 18 in the ‘ New Breed ‘ wrestling tournament that took place in the capital.

He defeated the wrestler from Singapore, Endboss Gregory and ended the match with his own technique, a technique called ‘KL Gold Running Elbow’ .
