“Don’t ‘swell your heart’, take revenge if Puteri Sarah meets another match later” – Yusof Haslam’s message to Syamsul
DATUK Yusof Haslam reminded his son, sensational director, Syamsul Yusof to get rid of his ego and not hold grudges after pronouncing divorce against his first wife, Puteri Sarah Liyana, 38, on April 18.
According to Yusof, even though Syamsul and Sarah’s marriage will eventually dissolve, he still respects the couple’s decision for the good of all parties.
“I wish him the best and hope that if the breakup happens, it happens well for logical reasons.
“This is not a normal separation but a separation that leaves offspring. So I hope that both the wife and the husband know their responsibilities.
“Everyone has to get rid of their egos, don’t be self-important, think about the children’s future,” said Yusof at the launch of Polis Evo 3 in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Yusof, 69, also hopes that there is no grudge still kept in the hearts of his son and Sarah who continues to be considered as his future daughter-in-law.
He said, Syamsul also needs to accept openly if Sarah will meet her successor after they separate.
“Later, if the ex-wife meets another partner, Syamsul don’t be upset, don’t hold a grudge.
“I really hope that the friendship between them is maintained for the sake of the children,” he said again.
Earlier, the Syariah Lower Court of the Federal Territory set April 18 for Syamsul to pronounce divorce against his first wife, Puteri Sarah.
