Donald Trump is accused of channeling money to ‘shut up’ porn actors

KUALA LUMPUR: Former President of the United States, Donald Trump was charged in Manhattan Court after the investigation into the money to ‘shut up’ that was paid to porn actress Stormy Daniels was concluded.

This makes him the first former US President to face criminal charges.

The charges stemmed from an investigation led by Democrat and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Trump previously said he would continue to campaign for the Republican Party nomination despite being charged with a crime.

However, the specifics of the charges are still unknown and charges may be announced in the coming days.

Trump needs to go to Manhattan for fingerprinting and other processing at that point.

Trump, 76,’s attempt at re-election in 2020 was thwarted by the victory of Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

Trump claimed he lost to Biden because of massive vote fraud and called the investigation that led to his allegations a ‘political witch hunt’.

Bragg’s office last year won a criminal conviction against the real estate businessman-turned-politician.

A grand jury convened by Bragg in January began hearing testimony and evidence about Trump’s role in payments to Daniels days before the 2016 Presidential Election, which went in his favor.

Daniels, a pornographic actress and director whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, said she received the money in exchange for her silence about a sexual encounter between her and Trump in 2006.

The former President’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, said Trump directed the payments to Daniels and to a second woman, former Playboy model Karen McDougal, who also claimed he had a sexual relationship.

Trump denies having affairs with any women.
