Don Spike was sentenced to a suspended prison sentence on drug charges

Don Spike, whose real name is Kim Min-su, was detained at a hotel in southern Seoul last year on charges of purchasing methamphetamine worth 45 million won (US$36,037).

SEOUL: A Seoul court on Monday sentenced Don Spike, a famous K-pop composer and TV celebrity, to three years in prison on charges of buying and using methamphetamine several times last year.

However, he did not have to serve a prison sentence because the sentence was suspended for five years.

The 46-year-old, whose real name is Kim Min-su, was arrested at a hotel in southern Seoul last year on charges of buying 45 million won (US$36,037) worth of methamphetamine and repeatedly using it by himself at a Seoul hotel or with others, reports said. Yonhap.

The Seoul Northern District Court also seized 39.9 million won from the composer.

Don Spike started his career as a keyboard musician of the band Position in 1996 and is famous for being involved in the production of EXO’s “Miracles in December” (2013) and Super Junior’s “Islands” (2014).
