
DKD Industri Muzik opens opportunities for high quality works
KUALA LUMPUR : In line with the government’s commitment to fuel the creative, arts and culture industries, the Music Industry Digital Content Fund (DKD) will open from March 23.
The Minister of Communications and Digital (KKD), Fahmi Fadzil through his sharing on Facebook informed that he is confident that DKD will open up more opportunities for artists to produce high quality works.
“I believe this DKD will open up more opportunities for art activists after the COVID-19 pandemic to produce high-quality creative works that are able to compete not only in the local market, but are also able to penetrate the international market.
“KKD will continue to build a conducive ecosystem to spur the country’s creative industry to a higher stage,” he said.

On Thursday, KKD for the first time organized a music industry public dialogue session attended by more than 500 players and music industry activists at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre.
This public dialogue is the first step to bring together stakeholders from various levels of the industry to identify and discuss potential initiatives in advancing the country’s music industry and resolve related issues.
The industry players who participated in this session consisted of artists, producers, managers, representatives of recording companies, representatives of music streaming services, as well as event organizers from all over the country.
A total of 13 recipients have been given Letters of Approval to Receive Music Performance Funds under the DKD Music Industry Year 2022 initiative amounting to RM3.3 million.
In addition, three Licensing Bodies namely Music Authors Copyright Protection (MACP) Berhad, Public Performance Malaysia (PPM) and Recording Performances Malaysia (RPM) Berhad also received Music Use Copyright Licensing Scheme Payments from the Government amounting to RM2.18 million.
Fahmi in a statement on Friday stated his determination to build a conducive ecosystem to support the creative industry.
Continuous cooperation with players and music industry activists is very significant in the effort to drive the country’s creative industry to a higher level.
