Dealing with bipolar, Janna Nick denied trying to get sympathy
ACTOR Janna Nick explains that she does not need the public’s sympathy at all following the bipolar disorder she has been dealing with for the past few months.
According to Janna, she is aware that there are a few people who say she just wants to gain sympathy from her fans when she shares her mental health problems on Instagram.
In fact, Janna also revealed that she had a letter from a medical officer confirming that she really had the problem.
“I swear I don’t ask for sympathy from anyone and I don’t need that at all, if it’s true that I asked for sympathy I’ve done it before and not now, if those out there want to say that it’s up to them.
“There is no reason for me to lie or intentionally tell about the pain I experienced, because I have a letter from the Doctor,” she said when met at the gala screening of the film Juang, which was also played by Janna.
Meanwhile, Janna or her original name Nurul Jannah Muner, 26, is aware that the act of sharing mental health problems on Instagram seems to open up her own shame, however, the purpose is only to bring awareness to the public.
In fact, Janna’s intention is to convey a message to individuals experiencing the same problem that they are not alone in going through the ordeal.
“Although I realize that it is not necessary to share but my intention is to tell those who have the same problem as me, they are not alone.
“Only people who have been through the same moment as me will understand. When we have mental health problems to such an extent that we no longer want to live in this world.
“So the purpose of my story on Instagram first is just to make the community aware of how serious this problem is.
“Even though my actions are like exposing myself, my intention is to encourage those who have the same fate as me to stay strong in their daily lives,” added Janna.
Earlier, the media reported that Janna came forward to reveal that she suffers from bipolar disease, or simply put, a mental condition that causes extreme mood swings.
However, Janna informed that she had already sought treatment and was taking medicine on the doctor’s advice.
In addition to Janna, Juang, which will be shown in cinemas across Malaysia from September 8, also stars other local actors such as Zul Ariffin, Zizan Razak, Izzue Islam, Sangeeta, Angelin Tan, Vanidah Imran, Datuk Rosyam Nor and many more.
Synopsis:
Juang will bring up the painful stories of frontline players including police, doctors, nurses, soldiers and food delivery people in ensuring the safety of Malaysians.
