COVID-19: Shanghai Disneyland shortens operating hours

SHANGHAI: The management of the Shanghai Disneyland theme park decided to shorten the operating hours from Saturday (October 29) in order to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Citing a CNA report , China has imposed strict restrictions in an effort to curb the rise in cases of COVID-19.

In the meantime, Disneyland confirmed that the premises are still operating but with a temporary reduction in staff which will affect some attractions, restaurants and certain shops.

Shanghai Disneyland, Disneytown and Wishing Star Park hotels will operate as usual. To date, at least 200 million people in 28 cities across China are facing curfews, massive COVID-19 smear tests and economic sector shutdowns.

Yesterday China recorded 1,000 cases of COVID-19 for the third day in a row, a figure that is considered small compared to other countries’ standards.

In Beijing, the Universal Resort theme park was closed last Wednesday after at least one visitor tested positive for the coronavirus.

The city of Wuhan, which is the location of the origin of the COVID-19 virus, was placed under curfew for the first time in three years since the pandemic began after the coronavirus infection was detected.
