Contagious video of dancing at a concert, police will take action
JOHOR BAHRU: Police will take action against the organizers and a group of individuals involved in a ‘dance action’ after they were believed to have violated standard operating procedures (SOP) in an incident at a concert in Ayer Hitam, Batu Pahat recently.
Johor Police Chief, Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said, however, his department is currently identifying the individuals involved.
He said a detailed investigation into the incident would be carried out and action taken based on the letter of the law.
“Things like that should not happen. No partying, this will cause unrest to the public and we will conduct an investigation and take action.
“If you look at it, it is definitely an offense because it does not comply with the SOP. We will investigate and will take action against those involved, “he said at a press conference at the Johor Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) here on Sunday.
He said this when asked to comment on an infectious video recording which showed the action of a group of individuals who were dancing, in a state without physical imprisonment.
The 20-minute recording sparked a debate among netizens who disputed the organization of such a concert at a time when the country is still in the COVID-19 pandemic.
