Coldplay ticket fraud victims can lodge complaint with domestic trade ministry
Make a complaint if there is an element of fraud in the sale of Coldplay concert tickets – KPDN
Govt urges consumers to be wise, purchase from official channels
Pre-sale tickets for British rock band Coldplay were quickly sold out within a few hours on Wednesday, with over 400,000 queuing virtually to purchase them.
PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) advises consumers to make a complaint to the agency if they feel there is an element of fraud in the sale of Coldplay concert tickets.
KPDN in a statement today said an official complaint is necessary to enable the agency to conduct an investigation under any act enforced by KPDN or other ministries.
“…they should make an official complaint by presenting relevant evidence,” said the ministry in the statement.
Meanwhile, KPDN advises users to make smart purchases by getting tickets from official and legitimate sales channels due to the issue of reselling Coldplay entertainment concert tickets at too high a price.
Previously, it went viral on social media about the existence of accounts on various platforms that sell Coldplay concert tickets said to be run by ‘scammers’, and there were also reports of the act of reselling the band’s concert tickets at a very high price, reaching RM43,200, which invited criticism.
Coldplay, the world’s leading music group, will hold a concert in their Music Of The Spheres World Tour series in Malaysia on Nov 22 at Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
