
Changing room hidden camera: Police investigate staff, maintenance
Police received a report from a security manager after video footage from a hidden camera in a dressing room at a mall in the capital went viral.
KUALA LUMPUR: The police have recorded the statements of 11 individuals for the investigation of a viral video showing hidden camera footage in the dressing room of a shopping mall, here.
Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya said, there were four videos received regarding the case.
“So far, 11 statements have been recorded involving the staff of the shopping center involved and the maintenance department.
“We also received a report made by a woman victim yesterday (Tuesday),” he told reporters during the Media Day at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters (IPD) here on Wednesday.
He said the police were also waiting for a report on the analysis of all the videos from Cyber Security.
He said the investigation is still ongoing, including the individual responsible for installing the camera in the dressing room, as well as tracking down the owner of the social media account involved.
“We urge all the victims in the recording to come forward and help the investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code,” he said.
On January 11, Sinar Harian reported that the police received a report made by the security control manager of a premises related to a viral video showing footage from a hidden camera in the dressing room of a shopping mall.
