BTS grabbed 2 music video awards on MTV Japan

BTS’s K-pop sensation group took home, not just one, but two awards at the 2021 Japan MTV Video Music Awards (2021 MTV VMAJ).

The matter was announced by the organizers of MTV VMAJ 2021 on October 29 on its official website, HelloKpop portal reported .

BTS won the award for Best Group Video for their hit single “Butter” this year.

Septet also won Best Collaborative Video for the song “My Universe” where they collaborated with the group Coldplay.

Both awards are in the international category.

“Thank you MTV Japan and everyone who supported this video.”

This is not the first time BTS has won an award on MTV VMAJ.

Previously, the famous K-pop group received the Best Group Video award in 2020 and 2018 for the music videos “Dynamite” and “Fake Love”.

In 2019, they also won the Best Buzz award.

In total, BTS has won five major awards in four years.

This year, it’s even more special, as it’s the first time they’ve won two awards.

MTV VMAJ 2021 selected the best works in 18 categories for music videos published from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021.

The music video of the awards ceremony will be broadcast on November 3 while the awards ceremony will be held live on November 25 and broadcast on December 18 at 7pm via MTV JAPAN.

MTV VMAJ is the Japanese version of the MTV VMAs, the largest music awards ceremony in the United States held annually since 2002.
