Bollywood singer Bappi Lahiri passed away
NEW DELHI: Bollywood music composer and singer Bappi Lahiri has died at the age of 69 at a Mumbai hospital.
Lahiri previously underwent treatment known as OSA ( obstructive sleep apnea ) and an infection of the lungs.
He was allowed to return from the hospital on Monday after a month of treatment but was re -admitted to the hospital on Tuesday.
Lahiri was infected with COVID-19 last year.
The singer, who popularized disco music in the 1980s and 90s, often appeared wearing overly laden gold chains.
Born in West Bengal, Lahiri had contested a parliamentary seat in his home state as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2014 general election but lost.
