
Boat owner, driver sentenced to prison for ‘Tangmo’ death
Tangmo, 37, fell into the Chao Phraya River while riding a speedboat near Pibul Pier 1 in Muang district, Nonthaburi on the night of Feb 24 last year.
BANGKOK: Two defendants in the case of the death of famous Thai actress, Nida “Tangmo” Patcharaveerapong, were sentenced to prison terms.
The Nonthaburi Regional Court however suspended the prison sentences and ordered them to do community service, reported the Bangkok Post .
On March 2, speedboat owner Tanupat “Por” Lerttaweewit pleaded guilty to charges of negligence causing death, while Phaiboon “Robert” Trikanjananun pleaded guilty to operating the boat without a license.
Tanupat was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison and fined 128,000 baht.
His prison sentence was reduced to two years and nine months, the sentence suspended for three years, and the fine reduced to 64,000 baht.
He was ordered to carry out a community service order.
Meanwhile, Phaiboon was sentenced to four years and four months in prison and fined 108,000 baht.
His prison sentence was however reduced to two years and two months, with the sentence suspended for three years, and the fine reduced to 54,000 baht.
He was also ordered to carry out a community service order.

His body was found two days later.
Six suspects were allegedly involved in a case that shocked the entertainment world, including netizens in Malaysia.
Besides Tanupat and Phaiboon, the other four accused are Wisapat “Sand” Manomairat, Nitas “Job” Kiratisoonthisathorn, Tangmo manager Idsarin “Gatick” Juthasuksawat, and Peam “Em” Thamtheerasri.
