BLACKPINK – Asia’s first female group artist decorated the front page of Rolling Stone
K-Pop group from South Korea BLACKPINK was chosen to grace the front cover of the June issue of Rolling Stone music magazine, thus becoming the first female group from Asia to be given the honor.
It is also the first time in more than 20 years that an all -women band has decorated the cover of the magazine.
BLACKPINK which consists of Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa is the third group of women to appear on the front page of Rolling Stone.
The Spice Girls received their first honors in 1997, before Destiny’s Child in 2001.
The group has not produced music together for over a year, with its members now busy with their respective solo projects.
They however confirmed recently that they have been working hard for their next album, which is reported to be released later this year.
“We don’t just accept songs that are ready. We engage from the start, building, adding and exchanging feedback. All these processes make me proud of our music, “said one of the band members, Jisoo.
