Bkay Nair helps generate income for the Malaysian Down Syndrome Association
UNITED Down Syndrome Malaysia (PSDM) together with World Saree Day Malaysia (WSDM) will jointly hold a charity program with a combination of arts and culture.
This program is also supported by the National Department of Arts and Culture (JKKN) and the Indian High Commission. The purpose of this program is to generate funds for PSDM and at the same time, educate about the uniqueness of the traditional Indian women’s dress, the sari.
The program organizer who is also a director at the Bkay Nair Resources (BNR) company, has involved himself a lot in various events and social service programs for women and children in need.

This time, the Ratu The Movie actress was so excited to organize a charity program involving children with Down Syndrome.
“As someone who is interested in Malaysian cultural heritage and has participated in various charity programs, I hope that this program can give the PSDM community an opportunity to show their capabilities and potential.
“At the same time, this gives Malaysians an opportunity to learn more about the tradition and culture of the traditional Indian clothing, the sari,” she said.
AS A celebrity, Bkay Nair wants to continue serving the community.
Previously, Bkay Nair has also organized several programs such as Miss Saree Malaysia 2019, Miss Saree Malaysia 2021, Women of Essence Leadership Series 2019 – 2021, Entrepreneurship Branding Camp 2020 and others.
For info, PSDM is a non-profit organization established in 2001, it has welfare volunteers who take care of the development and fight for the rights of Down Syndrome (SD) individuals throughout Malaysia through the perspective of health, welfare, education, vocational career training, and employment.
At PSDM, children with Down Syndrome are exposed to various skills such as cooking, washing clothes and various other skills to help them in their daily lives.
Therefore, the funds generated in this program will be used to help PSDM obtain additional equipment and their vocational career training expenses to help association members become independent and successful entrepreneurs in the future.
People with Dorwn Syndrome often struggle to get a job and to start their own business. Therefore, WSDM and BNR are proud to support and encourage entrepreneurs among Down Syndrome.
Touching on sari, the culture of wearing sari among Malaysians is increasingly forgotten and often modernized.
Therefore, WSDM intends to bring social impact to society by encouraging the younger generation to continue to love and appreciate the arts and culture of the various races in Malaysia.
WSDM will take place on 19 March 2023 at Tun Abdul Razak Hall, Bank Rakyat Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur, where performances from PSDM, JKKN, Bharat Club Kuala Lumpur, and many others will be performed.
The special guests who will participate in this program are the Minister of Human Resources, Tuan V. Sivakumar, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Khairul Firdaus, HE the High Commissioner of India, Bommireddy Narasimha Reddy and Senator Datuk Ras Adiba.
