Being generous… S Atan’s secret to happiness
The generous attitude of the legendary producer and composer S Atan is one of the secrets of his happiness and success to this day.
S Atan’s wife, Norizan, admits she is lucky to have a husband who is liked by many.
“As a wife, of course I see her determination to continue making her family happy as a gift. However, there is one attitude that I see is that he likes to make friends around him happy.
“He used to lend money, for the pleasure of others. He really wants to make his friends happy. Tell me that there was a time when I myself felt strange with my own husband.
“Sometimes I have something to say to him, it can’t be like this. Later people will think otherwise. It’s just that… he likes to see other people happy. But we never even thought of getting a reward for what we did,” she said.

Norizan said this when met at the 73rd Haji S Atan Yang Birthday Celebration Ceremony at Hotel Royal Chulan Damansara, recently.
According to Norizan, she is quite grateful because many loyally support her husband to this day.
“Even when there is a birthday celebration specially organized for my husband, I am grateful and moved on his behalf. Thank you.
“Many artist friends, friends and fans attended, including from Singapore, although some told us early on that they did not have the opportunity to come due to their own constraints, but we understand. Just because of the limited capacity, I also want to apologize,” he said.
NORIZAN admits to being lucky to marry S Atan.
Asked if the secret still seems strong to this day, S Atan who is also the uncle of the music director, Datuk Ramli MS is grateful for the strength bestowed by Allah SWT.
“Alhamdulillah, there is nothing secret really. It’s just me if I take (heavy) food once a day is enough. The same goes for sleep quality. Only my left eye can no longer see,” he said.
Meanwhile, businessman Dato Sri Rohaizat Musa, 46, who was willing to celebrate the celebration session as a ‘gift’, expressed his happiness that the ceremony went smoothly as expected.
“If possible, I want his birthday this time to be a meaningful moment, to be a memorable one
“In fact, if we look, many senior celebrities are present which indirectly shows that there is a good relationship with him. My wife and I are also interested in him,” he said.
Earlier on May 14, a special tribute concert was specially organized to appreciate S Atan’s service of more than four decades in coloring the local music industry through a line of hymns that use memory.
