Aubrey Suwito explains the comment “the knives are out”

THE NAME of the famous music maestro, Aubrey Suwito became the talk of the town due to the reply he sent on the Twitter platform recently.

It all started when music producer JD questioned whether artists whose faces were plastered on Times Square billboards in New York had ever performed in the city.

Aubrey through the repeat function wrote: ” Fuhhh. The knives are out ” on JD’s original tweet.

Aubrey’s statement, however, received negative feedback from netizens, especially fans of Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza. Aubrey was accused of being a hypocritical composer and close acquaintance of Siti and should not have written such a statement.

However, Aubrey explained that he did not intend to need anyone, waima artists whose faces were raised abroad through the Spotify music streaming platform. Aubrey’s purpose in doing so was because she wanted to rebuke JD’s actions which were considered less sweet.

“Everything is misunderstood. Some may not understand the context. My purpose in writing the tweet was to reprimand JD nicely, as it’s not sweet to ask such a question about another artist’s accomplishments.

“If in a simpler language, I want to convey to JD, ‘Relax…’ or ‘Amboi looks like he’s showing his fangs eh?’ to him. But, maybe lost in translation , many people misunderstand.

“True, many are angry with me. But I refused to comment further on Twitter for fear that this matter would be exaggerated, “he said.

Aubrey added, throughout being in the local music industry, he has always supported every local talent available.

“As I always say, I always support local talent. Don’t compare them (local singers) because each has their own talents.

“I always fight for the talent of local artists. When JD writes like that, it’s not cool. As a friend, I reprimand him well, ”he added.
