Artist figure Rahman B passed away
KUALA LUMPUR ,. National Artist Abdul Rahman Abu Bakar, or better known as Rahman B died at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) at 4.33 pm yesterday.
The news of Rahman B’s departure was informed by his grandson Hussein Abdul Salam.
He told Rahman B, 87, died from a clot in his lungs.
“The remains will be brought from HKL to the Kampung Baru Jamek Mosque to be bathed and shrouded. After that, the remains will be buried at the Jalan Ampang Islamic Cemetery after Zohor tomorrow, “he said when contacted last night.
Born on 18 May 1935 in Kapar, Klang, Rahman B is the recipient of the 2004 National Artist Award.
He has been involved in the aristocratic world since the age of eight, starting in the early 1940s and inherited the artistic blood of his parents who were also aristocratic activists, Abu Bakar Saleh and Kasminah Taib.
