Armada condemns the actions of the Zunar Cartoonist Fan Club FB page
KUALA LUMPUR: Armada Bersatu (Armada) has condemned the actions of the owner of the Zunar Cartoonist Fan Club Facebook page, which reportedly defames the integrity of Islam by linking images of the Kaaba in the form of caricatures and satirizing Bersatu President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Its head of information, Mohd Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir, said the actions of the site’s owner were outrageous because they made fun of religion.
“The fanatics of Pakatan Harapan (PH) are so ‘torn’ for not being able to hit the head of their leader entering the Kaabah that the action of these PH supporters is willing to crash into the dividing line which should not be violated and done when drawing a picture of the Kaabah by linking the issue of political prosecution against Muhyiddin.
“It is even more humiliating, not only making fun of the Temple to sponsor defamation, but the image from the Zunar Cartoonist Fan Club FB page of Muhyiddin allegedly committing ‘personal’ bribery is a ‘fallacy’ and a great slander to be associated with the Temple,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Mohd Ashraf also urged the Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail to act decisively in dealing with the issue.
He explained that Armada will also make a police report to demand an apology from the owner of the Zunar Cartoonist Fan Club Facebook page to Muslims throughout Malaysia.
