Apple ordered its employees to come into the office three days a week

SAN FRANCISCO: Apple ordered its employees to return to work in the office three days a week starting this September.

Its Chief Executive, Tim Cook said, the move is to maintain the cooperation that is very important in their work culture.

According to the new law, all employees at the headquarters and nearby branches are required to come into the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays and one other day to be determined by their respective managers.

While for other countries, workers will return according to the schedule set based on the current situation.

“We are excited to move forward and believe this new framework will enhance our ability to work flexibly, while maintaining the collaboration that is so important to our culture,” he said in a memorandum quoted by the Financial Times .

“We also know that there is still much to learn. And we are committed to listening, adapting and developing together,” he added.

Cook emphasized that the arrangement is a start and will be adjusted as needed.

This is not the first time Apple has issued such a directive.

In June 2021, a similar directive was issued to be implemented in September, but it was withdrawn following an increase in COVID-19 cases.
