
Anna Kendrick almost turned down acting offers due to depression
LOS ANGELES: Hollywood actress, Anna Kendrick admitted that she almost turned down the offer to act in the film Alice, Darling because she had been through the same situation as the story line.
Citing a People report , Kendrick revealed that he had experienced mental and emotional abuse while in a romantic relationship some time ago.
“I speak on the basis of experience facing the same situation as the character in this film. I’ve been in a toxic relationship.
“At that time, I loved and trusted him more than myself. I live in confusion and trauma with emotional abuse,” she said.
She added that the emotional stress experienced made him have to be referred to a psychiatrist.
This film directed by Mary Nighy tells the story of Alice (Kendrick) helped by her two friends to leave a toxic relationship with her lover, (Charlie Carrick). As a result of the relationship, Alice faced mental stress. The film will be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival this Sunday.
Earlier this year, Kendrick announced her breakup with actor Bill Hader after almost two years together.
