Amitabh Bachchan wins Lifetime Achievement Award in Saudi Arabia
RIYADH: Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan successfully brought home the Lifetime Achievement Award trophy at the Joy Awards 2023 in Saudi Arabia, recently, for his contribution to the Indian film industry.
Through his Instagram page, Bachchan uploaded a video of him expressing his gratitude while receiving the award.
The post also featured some clips from the 81-year-old legendary actor’s film.
“Thank you so much for your love, concern and for this honor,” he wrote in the caption.
In his speech, the artist mentioned that his visit to Saudi Arabia was the first and certainly not the last.
“I have always believed that cinema is a medium of entertainment and it is a medium that brings people together and integrates human society.
“We come from different walks of life and come from different world paths, but when we watch something, we laugh at the same jokes and cry at the same things. We gather on a platform,” he said.
Amitabh at the same time expressed his pride in having the opportunity to be a small part of the film industry community in India.
“When you respect me today, you respect my country’s film industry, you respect my country,” he added.
At the event, Amitabh was accompanied by members of his family including Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan.
