Amend guidelines: LPF invites creative industry activists to participate in engagement sessions
The Film Censor Board (LPF) invited creative industry players to participate in an engagement session to give their feedback on the amendment of the LPF Guidelines that has been worked on for the past two years.
LPF chairman Datuk Mohd Dusuki Ya’acob said the feedback was important so that LPF could improve the quality of their services to suit the current needs of the creative industry in line with the times and the current situation.
He said the last time the LPF Guidelines were amended was in 2010.
“Now the LPF Guidelines are in the final stage. However, we still need input and information from the industry to improve the existing Guidelines.
“We are open to hearing all their views… and we want to know what they want in the new Guidelines. From there, there will be mutual understanding,” he told reporters after the LPF Briefing Regarding the Implementation of the 2023 Film Classification here today.
More than 100 local creative industry activists attended the briefing session to hear more about the implementation of the 2023 Film Classification which came into force on 1 February.
Mohd Dusuki also said that after obtaining all views from the industry, LPF will hold another engagement session with them before the amendment is brought to management and the Ministry of Home Affairs for endorsement.
However, he said the drafted guidelines still maintain the four main pillars, which are security, religion, race and culture.
