After the death of his father due to heart disease in 1942, Lata, who was 13 years old at the time, became the mainstay of the family to earn a living and started singing and acting to support his life.

In the 1970s, Lata sang Chalte Chalte and Inhi Logon Ne for Meena Kumari’s last film, Pakeezah.

15) Guinness Book of Records
In 1974, the Guinness Book of Records listed Lata Mangeshkar as the most recorded artist in history.
This was disputed by Mohammed Rafi, who claimed he had sung more songs than her.
However, in 2011, Lata’s sister Asha Bhosle was officially recognized as the most recorded artist in music history by the Guinness Book.
