AKM Kelantan: Free screening of ‘Mat Kilau’ to 2,000 lucky people
KOTA BHARU: A total of 2,000 lucky viewers will watch the screening of the film Mat Kilau: Rise of a Hero for free on July 24 (Saturday), in conjunction with the Malaysian Family Aspirations Tour (AKM) of Kelantan.
The epic biographical film loaded with patriotism messages will be shown to the lucky people of Kelantan at 8pm, at the Kelantan Poverty Foundation Complex (YKK) Melor here.
The program coordinator for the screening of the film, Ahmad Termizi Musa said the free tickets would be distributed to the lucky people through representatives appointed by his party in every district in the state.
He said Kelantan is the only state on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia that does not have a cinema, but in conjunction with the AKM Tour this time, they are trying to highlight the atmosphere of being in a cinema by providing comfort and certainly meaningful memories to the audience present.
“In addition, the screening of the film Mat Kilau is also one of our efforts to promote this year’s National Day celebration with the theme of Malaysian Family Strong Together,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.
The AKM Kelantan tour which takes place this July 22 to 24 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here, provides a variety of interesting events such as the Malaysian Family Guaranteed Career Carnival, agency and ministry exhibition stands, traditional performances, bekwoh (feasts), cultural performances and Muay Thai competitions .
Explaining further, Ahmad Termizi said the entire area at the screening venue will be closed because only 2,000 selected viewers will be allowed to watch the film and he will also separate the seats between male and female viewers.
“In terms of control, we will make sure that all spectators do not make any recordings during the screening of the film.
“If we can catch an individual who disobeys this order, the officers will order the spectators to come out immediately and delete the video recording,” he said.
The film “Mat Kilau: The Rise of a Hero” directed by director Mohd Syamsul Mohd Yusof or better known as Syamsul Yusof was shown on June 23 last including in Singapore and Brunei and managed to collect more than RM80 million in tickets so far.
Among the great actors who lined up in this film are Datuk Adi Putra, Beto Kusyairy, Fattah Amin, Wan Hanafi Su, Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan, Datuk Rahim Razali and the actor from the other side who made a name in Hollywood, Yayan Ruhian.
