Aidilfitri prayer twice: The Imam appeared to give an explanation
SHAH ALAM: Imam 1 of the Tengku Mahkota Abdullah Jerantut Mosque (MTMAJ) appeared to give an explanation regarding the issue of Aidilfitri circumcision prayers that had to be repeated on Saturday.
The imam, Mohd Fikir Hamzah through his TikTok account on Sunday admitted that he was the imam responsible until the Aidilfitri prayer at the mosque went viral because he had to repeat it.
According to him, he admitted that he did forget to raise the takbir five times in the second rakat of the prayer but continued the prayer until it was finished.
“After greeting, I discussed with the congregation in the first row and each of them gave their opinion, some said to continue the sermon and some said to pray again, then I decided to discuss with all the congregation.
“I made the prayer announcement earlier and there was a mistake, then I asked the opinion of all the congregation if we want to continue the sermon or pray again.
“On average, the congregation wants to pray again, so I decided to pray again,” he said.
He explained that based on the law, it is not a problem that the first prayer is valid and the second is also valid.
“I have consulted teachers and those who are experts in this field and repeating the Aidilfitri prayer is valid and not an offence,” he said.
Meanwhile, he also advised Muslims to come to the mosque for the sake of ALLAH SWT.
“Come to the mosque not because of the imam, not because there is ‘ aircond ‘ or because you want to find fault with others,” he said.
Mohd Fikir also thanked those who understood, praised and thought well of what happened.
“To those who commented badly and so on, I have forgiven, there is no problem at all,” he said.
