KUALA LUMPUR: Singer, Afgan admitted to meeting with a therapist regarding his mental health since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world two years ago.

According to the popular singer with the song Terima Kasih Cinta dan Entah , during the pandemic it was a very difficult year for everyone including himself.

When everything stops, it is certain that as a singer he cannot perform, record songs and meet many people.

Afgan or real name Afgansyah Reza, 33, said that during the pandemic, he needed a support system, especially from family and close friends.

“When the pandemic hit, everything stopped. I couldn’t perform, record songs and at that time I was alone a lot.

“I experienced a ‘ mental block’ . It was a very difficult year for me. Therefore, because of that I need a support system like a close friend.

“If before I worked hard for 13 years, but when the pandemic hit, I couldn’t do much. So, I experienced ‘ burn out ‘. In addition, I also experienced depression,” he said.

In connection with that, Afgan began to realize that many things needed to be improved. So, the Terima Kasih Cinta singer decided to meet with a psychiatrist.

“I started doing therapy with a psychiatrist since the pandemic and that routine continues until now, every month to make me ‘ keep moving’ .

“At the same time, I agreed to meet a specialist because many of my friends are also going through the same thing. So, they suggested me to get similar help,

“Now I am more content, spiritual and calm. There is wisdom in this pandemic,” he said again.

In another development, Afgan will hold the Afgan Evolution Kuala Lumpur concert at the Plenary Hall of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center at 8.30 tonight.

Afgan will sing 24 songs including works from the latest mini-album, +62 during the two-hour concert.
