Affordable Art Exhibition at WTCKL, showcasing over 300 works by local artists

KUALA LUMPUR: The public is invited to enjoy the Affordable Art Exhibition currently underway at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center (WTCKL).

WTCKL Group Managing Director, Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim said, the exhibition which started from September 30 to October 13 next showcases more than 300 exclusive collections.

He said, with painting prices starting as low as RM300, the exhibition is expected to increase the ability of local people to obtain creative works.

“This means that the painting can be bought at an affordable price and it is the first time that such an exhibition is held in Malaysia.

“I hope people will come in large numbers to support the artists of the homeland when they exhibit their paintings,” he said on Wednesday.

Commenting further, Irmohizam said, the exhibition organized jointly with Creative Space @WTCKL, among other things, witnessed WTC being able to create a new form of method in providing business opportunities through the business event industry.

“Business events are not only focused on conventions and so on, we can also collaborate with players in the art industry to jointly help generate the national economy and encourage the younger generation to get involved in this industry,” he added.

The exhibition, which is open for free from 11 am to 8 pm, involves more than 90 local artists.

Among the line-up of famous painters who participated in the exhibition were Aris Aziz, Sabri Salleh, Mustafa Salleh and Wong Kean Choon.
