Adele will ‘take a break’ from music after her Las Vegas residency ends
The hitmaker wants to go back to school for a degree in English literature
POP superstar Adele, who is due to start her Las Vegas residency in November, already has plans for what comes next – and it involves a bit of reading, writing and exam taking.
Despite taking a six year break in between last year’s ‘30’ and ‘25’, the 34-year-old wants to take a break from music and is planning on getting a degree in English literature. She share in a recent Q&A that she wishes she had gone to university after leaving school.
But don’t expect to see Adele on any campus as she plans on taking an online course to get her degree.
“After Vegas I really want to get a degree in English Literature. If I hadn’t made it in my singing, I think I would definitely be a teacher. I think I’d be an English Lit teacher.
‘I definitely feel like I use my passion of English Lit in what I do. But even though it’s not like I’d go on to get a job from my degree, I wish I had gone to university, I wish I’d had that experience.
‘I won’t go to a university, I’ll do it online and with a tutor, but that’s my plan for 2025. It’s just to get the qualifications.”
Adele’s Vegas residency finally begins next month, as it had previously been scheduled to happen in January when the singer cancelled at the last minute blaming “delivery delays and Covid.”
After the new dates for the gig were leaked, Adele took to Instagram in July to confirm the show would start in November, thanking fans for their ‘patience.’
Meanwhile, she has released a new music video for the song I Drink Wine, which sees her floating on a river sipping on rosé as shirtless men frolicked in the water around her.
