Actress Anne Heche has been declared dead
Hollywood actress Anne Heche was officially declared dead a week after being involved in an accident when the car she was driving crashed into a residential building.
Heche, 53, was previously in a coma following an accident on August 5 that caused serious brain injuries.
The actress has lost all brain function and according to California law, Heche is classified as deceased even though her heart is still beating.
Her family members are meanwhile trying to find an organ recipient as the actor relies on life support machines.
Heche is known through 1990s era films such as “Donnie Brasco” and “Six Days and Seven Nights”.
In addition, Heche was in a relationship with a popular lawyer, Ellen DeGeneres.
In a crash last week, the vehicle Heche was driving burst into flames after crashing into a two-story house in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles.
