A combination of 4 legendary artists made the Legend Nostalgia Charity Event a success, helping art activists affected by COVID-19

IPOH: The presence of four legendary artists in conjunction with the Legendary Nostalgia Charity Event which took place at the Royal Perak Golf Club (RPGC), here recently, was so meaningful in helping artists affected after the pandemic.

Even though it’s been two years since COVID-19 hit the world, the impact is still leaving its mark so that some artists have lost their income to support their families.

No exception, musicians who are forced to sell musical instruments due to constraints during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period as well as standard operating procedures (SOP) that do not allow the organization of events in large numbers.

At least now, many of us can breathe a sigh of relief.

There are no more restrictions for all sectors, but it must be remembered that the ‘scars’ following the pandemic are still there.

Accordingly, the initiative implemented by Nerv Global Sdn Bhd and the Malaysian Employees Association (Karyawan) aims to find funds to help artists in need.

More special, the exclusive presence of the King of Lower Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Idris Shah, who agreed to the event.

Also present were the President of Karyawan, Datuk Freddie Fernandez and the Mayor of Ipoh, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin.

According to the advisor of the event, who is also a representative of Nerv Global Sdn Bhd, Dr Raja Putra Shah, the charity event attended by 600 spectators consisted of local entrepreneurs, GLC companies and agencies supporting the national entrepreneurship industry.

“It is able to attract their interest thus opening up opportunities for these legendary artists to perform at corporate and social events organized by their organizations and business networks.

“Even though the government reopened the entertainment sector at the beginning of the end of the MCO to allow artists and artists to continue to earn income.

“… including various initiatives by government agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as Karyawan, of course it will take some time to stabilize their socio-economic situation,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

In the meantime, commenting further on the selection of the four legendary artists, he said it coincided with a phenomenon and nostalgia that is still close to the hearts of Malaysians.

“Why did we choose these four legendary artists, namely Shuib, Fredo, Jay Jay and Zur Eda?

“They are artists of the same generation who were once popular with their respective hits in the 80s.

“Meganang Lalu sung by Fredo Flybaits, Pulanya di Sini sung by Shuib Freedom, Rindu Bayangan sung by Jay Jay Carefree and Pelitaku sung by Zur Eda certainly bring nostalgic memories and evoke memories.

“They have always been idols and a source of inspiration through the greatness of their voice, the melodiousness of the melody and the beauty of the lyrics that leave a mark on the hearts of the listeners until now,” he explained.

Also brightening up the event were guest artists, Iqa Nasra, Datin Maylene Yong, as well as the Migos group who performed.

He added that the collaboration of the charity event did not stop there but will continue with the Nostalgia Legenda brand.

The continuity, he said, will be continued through a cooperation agreement between the Employees and Nerv Global Sdn Bhd, with his appointment as event advisor.
