42 contestants of Miss and Mister Celebrity International spent two days in Malacca
MELAKA: A total of 42 participants of the Miss and Mister Celebrity International 2023 Pageant from 26 countries will camp for two days in Melaka in an effort to promote the state in conjunction with the Year of Visiting Melaka 2024 (TMM 2024).
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said the group, which consists of influencers, artists and famous celebrities in their respective countries, including Belgium, Korea, China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Pakistan, India, Myanmar, Mongolia, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia and Malaysia.
“Participants of the Miss and Mister Celebrity International 2023 Pageant are seen as ambassadors for us to introduce tourism products in Melaka as one of the must-visit tourist destinations.
“We are confident that through this initiative, Melaka tourism products can be promoted more widely at the international level through the participants involved, especially on their social media since the participants are well-known individuals with many followers,” he told reporters at the Melaka State Tourism Office at Jonker Walk here today. this.
He said this after the Miss and Mister Celebrity International 2023 Pageant Meet and Greet which was also attended by the state’s Tourism, Heritage, Art and Culture Exco Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman.
Ab Rauf said the competition participants will be taken to visit tourist destinations especially around Banda Hilir including Menara Taming Sari, Melaka River Cruise, Baba Nyonya Museum and Jonker Street.
He said apart from that, they are also expected to be present at the Melaka State Government Aidilfitri Open House which will take place tomorrow at the Melaka International Trade Center (MITC) in Ayer Keroh.
The Miss and Mister Celebrity International 2023 Pageant took place for 10 days in Kuala Lumpur starting last April 24 and Melaka was one of the states visited by the group of celebrities as part of the programme.
The program’s final match will take place at the HGH Convention Centre, Sentul in Kuala Lumpur on May 1.
Meanwhile, Ab Rauf said the state government was not affected by any action or political agenda including the alleged issue involving a senior exco with sex bribery.
He said on the other hand, all members of the State Assembly (MMKN) are now fully focused on developing and advancing Melaka in various sectors for the prosperity and well-being of the people.
