‘001’ made history by winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress

OH YOUNG-SOO made history as the first Korean star to win a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor category on Sunday.

The 79-year-old actor won for his character Oh Il-nam or better known as Player 001 in the Netflix-produced television series, Squid Game.

Young-soo managed to beat other nominees like Brett Goldstein for his character in the Ted Lasso series, Billy Crudup and Mark Duplass in The Morning Show and Kieran Culkin in Succession.

The 79th Golden Globe Awards were held without hosts, spectators and any live streaming following the industry boycott as well as the controversy surrounding the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

The list of winners was announced via the Golden Globes ’official social media account.
